Use of Generative AI
For publications submitted to Journals of Skolpex Academic Pulishing, this policy governs the use of artificial intelligence (AI) tools and technologies throughout the research, writing, peer review, and editing stages. It aims to preserve academic integrity, ensure transparency, and promote ethical conduct in scientific writing and communication.
Skolpex Academic Pulishing follows editorial policies that comply with internationally recognised ethical standards, including those established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
In accordance with these guidelines, Skolpex Academic Pulishing requires full transparency regarding the use of generative AI (GenAI) tools in research and manuscript preparation. GenAI may be used for minor tasks in the publication process (e.g., linguistic revision, data visualisation), but it must not replace human intellectual contributions or produce fabricated content.
GenAI tools cannot be credited as authors, as they do not meet the criteria for authorship, which include substantial intellectual contribution, active participation in the writing or revision of the work, and responsibility for the content. Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, and ethical compliance of their submissions, even when AI tools are used. All work must meet established standards of academic integrity, proper attribution, scientific rigour, and originality.
Authors must include a clear statement regarding the use of GenAI, if applicable. This statement must specify the name(s) of the AI tool(s) used (e.g., Gemini, ChatGPT, Copilot, ...) and the specific tasks to which the tool was applied (e.g., language editing, data visualisation, literature synthesis, ...).
Peer review must remain a human-led process. While AI technologies can assist in a variety of ways, they should not replace the expertise, judgement, and responsibility of reviewers.
These policies reflect evolving best practices and will be regularly reviewed and updated to keep pace with advances in AI and scientific publishing.
AI disclosure: Authors should include a statement about the use of generative AI or AI-based tools in the Declarations section of the manuscript.
